Yuill helps Hartlepool business grow

Thursday, 03 February 2011 @ 09:02

A Hartlepool business has quadrupled in size and created four new local jobs thanks to Yuill Homes and its commitment to partnering with local businesses.

Yuill Homes has been supplied with sheds by Woodcraft UK for its North East developments during the past three years and this relationship has now resulted in four new jobs and three moves of premises to keep up with demand. Woodcraft UK, set up four years ago by Phil Butler, manufactures and installs quality, tailor made sheds.

Andrew Pegg, Company Secretary at Yuill Homes, said: “We are committed, wherever possible, to investing in local labour and local businesses and Woodcraft is an excellent example of where this approach brings benefits to everyone.

“Yuill Homes came across Woodcraft UK when we were looking for sheds which were a little more robust than off-the-shelf types. When building sustainable properties we need to ensure that every home has a secure garden shed where a bike can be stored and Woodcraft provides custom-made products which are extremely high quality.

“We are delighted that our ethos for supporting local companies has paid off so successfully in Phil’s case - it’s great to see his business expand over the years and create new jobs for the local economy.”

Phil said: “Yuill Homes has helped me make this business a success and I’m eternally grateful to them. Working with Yuill has helped me to grow the business; providing jobs and opening the door to other big contracts which I would never have been able to fulfil when I first started out.”

Constructed in log-effect, Swedish red wood with a number of security features, Woodcraft UK hand-makes each shed to Yuill’s specifications and to meet the code for sustainable homes. Woodcraft’s latest order is a number of sheds for Yuill’s new Great Ayton development.
